Delhi not picking Virat Kohli in the 2008 IPL Auction draft

When every team can pick a local player for their team. Delhi picked Pradeep Sangwan for $50,000 for the left-arm pacer while RCB scalped the Delhi-born batsman for $30,000.

KKR Releasing Chris Gayle ahead of 2011 Auction

The Universal Boss was not picked by a team in that auction, but later he was picked as a replacement for injured Nannes by RCB. After the arrival of Boss to the squad the team who were last reach the final and Gayle ended the season as the leading run-scorer with 608 runs.

MI backing out of David Warner's Bid despite the low price

In the 2014 Auction, Warner was backed in the IPL auction. He put his base price as INR 1.5Cr. SRH started the bidding in which Mumbai Indians joined in. The two teams kept battling until the SRH bang the player for 5.5 cr. David Warner has won 3 orange caps out of 4 after that. 

RCB not using Right to Match Card for KL Rahul in 2018 Auction

Ahead of the 2018 mega auction the RCB does not retain the services of KL Rahul but go for Sarfaraz Khan as their third retention (after Kohli and ABD). He went for 11 Cr INR in the auction and RCB don't use Right to Match card as Punjab snaffled him. Rahul has scored more than 500 runs in the last two seasons for Punjab.

KKR bid for Rohit Sharma but MI picked him at the end after KKR stopped the bid

Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians are probably the most successful team in IPL history. The Mumbaikar had led the team for four titles since 2013. Rohit not only as a batsman but as a great captain, he shined in the field. In the 2012 auction, he was available and KKR lets him go for 2Million to Mumbai Indians.
