We all know that Instagram makes money by showing ads in feeds and stories. when started, Instagram was a photo-sharing social media platform and they added the ability to post short videos. But the demand for video creators on Instagram raised and they introduced IGTV a feature where you can upload lengthy videos on Instagram.
IGTV was not like YouTube where creators can make money directly from ad revenue shares. This is going to change as Instagram announced to show ads in IGTV and share revenue with creators.
Starting next week, we are introducing ads in IGTV, our long-form video destination. We want to support creators' investment in IGTV by sharing advertising revenue with them

In the beginning, ads will only appear when users click and opened a video from their feed, the ads will be vertical videos up to 15 seconds at the initial round. There will be options to skip ads just like on YouTube.
In order to monetize their content, it should obey all the rules and policies in the Instagram partner policy. The terms and conditions to show ads on your IGTV are not known yet but Instagram would be prioritizing vertical videos to show more ads.
Instagram should share at least 55% of the revenue to the creators for showing ads. This might be a great opportunity for creators who can provide quality content to users. This will also make sure more great content will be created specifically for IGTV,
